Updates to Small Group Quoting and Processing

Medical Mutual thanks its brokers for a very successful fourth quarter for our Small Group business. Due to an overwhelming quoting demand, as well as a high volume of sold new business cases, Medical Mutual would like to make you aware that they will now prioritize sold case submissions over future quoting activity for 2025.
Please work with an ExpressLink representative to prioritize any remaining Jan. 1, 2026 viable opportunities that may be outstanding. If an immediate quote is needed, ACA rates are available using the quoting tool on MyBrokerLink and can be run at your convenience.
Medical Mutual is working diligently to assess and implement process improvements to avoid future delays. In the short term, please ensure that any quotes or sold case submissions are complete and accurate to avoid further delays.
Groups with 7 or More Enrolling with Less Than 50 Total Employees:
Please submit quotes to your ExpressLink representative. FormFire submissions are accepted and welcome regardless of the group size. Please be sure the following is included with submission:
- Group Name
- Group Address
- Tax ID
- SIC Code
- Writing Agent/Agency Name
- Current Carrier (Virgin groups are not eligible for Simplified Underwriting)
- Total # of Employees (F/T and P/T combined)
- Total # of Employees Enrolling
- Membership Level Census, including Subscriber ID (or family identifier), First and Last Name, Date of Birth, Sex Assigned at Birth, Relationship Code, Zip Code and Contract Type
- Copy of current renewal
Exceptions:
- Census underwriting should not be used for groups that do not have a current group health plan
- FormFire may be required in certain circumstances where insufficient or adverse results are returned
- Groups with less than 7 enrolling must complete and submit via FormFire for
consideration. All data elements above are required—please ensure that all
required information above is submitted via the FormFire process
Medical Mutual does not require your quote or sold case submission to be submitted via a Medical Mutual portal at this time. As a reminder, sold case checklists and other forms can be located here. Please note, this applies to agencies with COSE Benefit Plan quoting access only.
