Introducing the MedImpactSave™ Program
SummaCare is pleased to announce a new prescription benefit that may help your SummaCare Commercial and Self-Funded clients save money at the pharmacy. SummaCare Commercial and Self-Funded plans now include expanded savings through MedImpactSave, a program designed to provide automatic savings on many covered generic formulary prescription drugs.
How does the new benefit work?
Employees present their SummaCare member ID card when they drop off a prescription at an in-network, participating pharmacy. If they normally have a copay or coinsurance for the drug under their plan, the pharmacy will automatically charge them the lower of their cost share amount, available discount price or their pharmacy’s retail price. It really is that easy.
What about prescriptions for family members?
This new pharmacy benefit includes anyone covered under their SummaCare plan.
Will this count toward their deductible or prescription out-of-pocket maximum?
For prescriptions covered by their SummaCare plan, amounts they pay out-of-pocket will apply to their out-of-pocket maximum and/or deductible, if applicable.
Is there any cost to members to participate in this benefit?
There is no cost to the employer or their employees to use it. They receive automatic savings at the pharmacy counter, with no hassles and no paperwork.
This new benefit will be available beginning April 1, 2024.
SummaCare-covered employees were mailed information about this program. Should you have any questions about this program, please contact your ExpressLink representative.
