Changes to New Business Enrollment Requirements
Applies to: COSE Benefit Plan, Balanced Solutions
Note: This does not impact ACA. Midsize (51-99) group business does not require wage and tax documentation at the time of implementation.
In the spirit of streamlining our enrollment process and listening to broker feedback, we are making an important change in our new business enrollment guidelines for Jan. 1, 2024, effective dates and beyond.
Tax documentation will no longer be required upon submission/enrollment for groups enrolling in the COSE Benefit Plan or Balanced Solutions.
- By signing the group application, you and your client are (1) attesting that all participation and eligibility requirements are satisfied as stated on the group applications, and (2) attesting to the understanding that any intentional misrepresentation of material fact or fraudulent statement may result in the recission of the group policy, termination of coverage, increase in premiums retroactive to the policy date and/or other consequences permitted by law.
- Groups may be subject to audit, and Medical Mutual reserves the right to request and review payroll and/or other documents confirming compliance.
- Groups of 1 (with 1 eligible and 1 enrolling employee) will still require wage and tax documentation along with the currently required affidavit.
- Groups enrolling in ACA are still required to submit wage and tax documentation.
