Security Added to MyBrokerLink and Member Calls Regarding Protected Health Information
Topic: Broker Relations | Companies: Medical Mutual, MedMutual Life, Mutual Health Services | Segment: Individual, Medicare, Small Group (1-50), 51-99, 100+, MEWA
To further protect sensitive member and broker data, Medical Mutual has implemented multifactor authentications (MFA) for MyBrokerLink logins and member calls that require a change in policy information.
MyBroker Link:
During login, all MyBrokerLink users will now be prompted to select either email or phone to receive an authentication code. The code should be entered into MyBrokerLink to complete login.
Please reach out to your ExpressLink representative with questions or issues logging in.
Customer Care Calls (Members Only)
Last July, Medical Mutual Customer Care enhanced its HIPPA security by requiring a one-time password when changing Protected Health Information (PHI). The password is sent to the caller’s listed telephone number, and the member must repeat the code to the Care team before making any changes to policy information—including the following:
- Mailing or physical address
- Telephone number
- Email address
If you receive questions from members, please assure them that this is part of Medical Mutual’s standard process. With an influx of new members, it’s possible this may be the first time they have experienced the updated process.
1095-B Tax Forms Now Available on My Health Plan
Topic: Company News | Companies: Medical Mutual, Paramount | Segment: Individual, Medicare, Small Group (1-50), 51-99, 100+, MEWA
Medical Mutual members may now download their 2025 1095-B tax forms directly from My Health Plan, Medical Mutual’s secure member portal. Hard copies will only be mailed to members who call Customer Care team to request one.
Here’s how we’ll communicate to the members:
- My Health Plan messaging
- Medical Mutual will post a message on My Health Plan which lets members know how to locate their 1095-B form: Benefits & Coverage > Account Details > Tax Reporting
- MedMutual.com messaging
- Medical Mututal posted a message on MedMutual.com which instructs members to log in to or register for My Health Plan.
- Members who don’t have access to My Health Plan are instructed to call Medical Mutual Customer Care to request a hard copy by mail. Members should allow at least two weeks for receipt by mail.
- Paramount members will have their 1095-B forms mailed to them since they do not have access to My Health Plan.
As a reminder, we only issue 1095-B forms for fully insured, COSE MEWA, GCADA and Balanced Solutions members. 1095-A forms are for individuals who purchase coverage on the health care exchange and are issued by the Federally-Facilitated Market place. 1095-C forms are issued by large group employers to their own employees.
If you have questions, please contact your ExpressLink representative.
