Aetna’s current admin credits of $400 per medical sub and $150 for dental will remain in place through 10/1/26. However, Aetna has changed the program moving forward from 11/1/26. The level of admin credit will be based on complete and timely submissions of new business. In January 2026, Aetna received over 50% of our sold groups after 12/15/25 and we sold more than anticipated so the system was stressed. No one including the members, your clients, you or Aetna, likes the access-to-care issues when issuance and cards are delayed. Our paperwork takes 30 minutes to complete yet the average time from issuance to completion is 12.5 days.
Starting 11/1, the admin credit will be $450 per sub for medical and $150 per sub for dental, or $600 maximum provided we receive ALL necessary information by the cut-off date, usually around the 22nd of the month prior. Additional information linked here. Keep in mind that the sold groups have to be submitted through Gateway and be 100% complete to get the full admin credit.
If you work through ExpressLink, ExpressLink will be submitting for you. If there is ANY missing information or Atena received the paperwork after the early submission deadline, the admin credit will be $150 for medical and $50 for dental. If you have something submitted by the cut-off date and Aetna needs to go back for missing info such as a dependent DOB, the lower admin credit will apply. The good news is Gateway should help prevent that from happening.
