- On April 17, 2026
The contract with Mid-Ohio Emergency Services will end April 20, 2026, and they will be out of network starting April 21. This means your client’s employees may pay more for non-emergency care received from this provider after April 20.
Employees may not recognize these provider names
If your client’s employees (or someone on their plan) received care from Mid-Ohio Emergency Services in the last 12 months for a visit to the emergency room, they will get a letter by mail explaining this change. These providers may not be immediately known to employees because certain doctors participate in providing care, even if they don’t see them face-to-face. This could include things like X-rays, lab work, emergency care, and anesthesia.
Reassuring employees about emergency care
If employees have an emergency, they should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Their plans cover care received at any hospital if they are having an emergency. They pay their plan’s in-network copay or percentage of the cost for emergency care. Urgent care centers are a lower-cost option if they need care for non-life-threatening conditions.
