As a follow-up to the 9/11/24 update (New 2025 Group Product Line-Up), that included the Reducing Deductible
Video and Brochure, Medical Mutual has updated the launch materials to include the plan grid.
Reducing Deductible (available for Groups sized 51-99):
As a brief reminder, Medical Mutual’s Reducing Deductible health plans provide organizations with 51-99 employees the opportunity to lower their annual deductibles by completing wellness activities.
This unique product differentiates Medical Mutual in the market and will serve to attract new business and retain groups with an intentional multi-year incentive. Premium rates remain consistent during the program year
regardless of how many employees engage in the wellness activities.
The Reducing Deductible product can be quoted beginning on 10/1 for 1/1/25 effective dates.

SmartShopper is Now Included for Fully Insured, MEWA and Balanced Solutions Groups
As shared in Medical Mutual’s recent SmartShopper webinar, SmartShopper (a product of Zelis) is now automatically included for all fully insured, MEWA and Balanced Solutions groups starting Oct. 1, 2024. There is no rate impact to these groups or additional fees to members for the addition of this program.

SmartShopper helps members save on more than 70 routine medical procedures by encouraging them to compare estimated costs between in-network providers prior to receiving care. Members who choose a lower-cost option will enjoy the same high-quality care at a lower out-of-pocket cost, and they’ll earn a cash reward in the amount of 30% of the savings, up to $750 per qualifying event/service.

Member Communications
Direct-to-member communications will be managed by Zelis, not Medical Mutual. Here’s a sample of a Welcome to SmartShopper postcard that is expected to arrive in members’ homes by the end of the month.
