Ohio House Bill 315 Modification
Topic: Broker Relations | Companies: Medical Mutual, Paramount, Mutual Health Services | Segment: Individual, Small Group, 51-99, 100+, MEWA
Recently, Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) clarified the Ohio Revised Code 3902.63 portion of Ohio House Bill 315 that any cost-sharing – copays, deductibles and coinsurance – applicable to services rendered by occupational therapists, physical therapists and chiropractors will be no greater than the applicable cost-sharing for a medically necessary primary care physician (PCP) office visit. For example, if a PCP office visit copay is $30, then 100%, while occupational therapists, physical therapists or chiropractors are 80% after deductible, the applicable therapy service will change to a $30 copay, then 100%.
Updated Certificate amendments have been filed with ODI. Upon approval, the language in any amendment already issued for MMO plans will be updated. Additionally, Medical Mutual is determining the impact of ODI’s clarification on Mutual Health Services and Paramount.
Paramount System Conversion
Topic: Company News | Companies: Paramount | Segment: Individual, Small Group, 51-99, 100+, MEWA
Paramount is in the process of a system conversion. Paramount is transitioning from Amisys to Health Rules Payer (HRP) to upgrade benefits, claims processing and streamline other administrative functions. Some commercial groups will convert at renewal starting in June for July, with the majority converting in November/December for January renewals.
As part of this conversion, Paramount ID cards have been redesigned. This flyer explains the new look and layout of the ID cards.
- Members will receive their new ID cards via US mail ahead of the group’s renewal date.
- Member ID numbers will be changing as groups renew.
- Instead of starting with a P, the new member ID numbers will start with 100
- The new ID numbers will be on group invoices following renewal.
Paramount group group/division numbers will also change and will be referred to as accounts/subaccounts. At the group’s renewal, Paramount will communicate with brokers what the new accounts/subaccounts are for each group.
Paramount’s Jet enrollment portal will be unavailable leading up to the group’s renewal for internal teams to transition enrollment from Amisys to HRP. Please hold all enrollments during this time. Paramount will communicate the portal’s availability.
