Creditable Coverage Notification to Brokers
Per current federal regulations, employers must provide notification to Medicare-eligible employees if their employer drug coverage is not creditable under Medicare’s Part D Prescription Drug Coverage rules. SummaCare sends notifications to both the employer and the employee if their current drug coverage provided by SummaCare is deemed non-creditable. Since we have received questions from brokers given the numerous Medicare Prescription Drug changes for 2025, this year we included brokers in this notification. Emails were distributed to brokers on October 3, listing their groups that fell into the non-creditable category. If you did not receive an email from SummaCare Broker Services informing you of any groups with non-creditable coverage, then you have no SummaCare groups with non-creditable coverage.
